THE LITTLE RED RASCAL
This is a famous story about a little fox and a little chick who only desire to be friends despite their circumstances, and overcome all the barriers they face in their friendship. Often it’s hard for adults to believe in sincerity, kindness and reliability of relationships that are not logical. Can a fox be warm-hearted and honest? Can a little chick be strong and brave. Can they have true and sincere friendship? It turns out everything is possible!
The musical is based on the well-known story written by Swedish writer Jan-Olof Ekholm who uses it as a platform to discuss problems of human and familial relationships. Ekholm wrote this story in 1965, and since then it was translated in various languages – English, French, Italian, German, Norwegian, Czech. Zerkalo Musical Theater presents the Russian version of this heartwarming story.
The moral of "The Little Red Rascal" is to protect friendship and love, which often get taken over by lies and materialism. This story espouses the values of honesty and sincerity, leading audience members with a belief in kindness and offering help to those in need. In a way this is a Romeo and Juliet story for children but with a happy ending.
